Current Treatments

Updated on 3/8/24

Be sure to check out the bottom of this page. I list the treatments that helped me earlier on, but I no longer need to use.

  • Eating more protein and fat. I tend to fade in energy between meals. I also get ravenous an hour after eating carb-heavy meals. Eating more protein and fat with each meal has been helpful to feel more steady energy-wise.
  • Zinc picolinate, magnesium glycinate, ashwagandha, inositol, lithium orotate, and 5-htp (mental health and physical anxiety manifestations).
  • Xiidra eye drops, Tyrvaya, warm compresses (twice daily), IPL, Allegro or Celluvisc drops, Ocusoft foaming lid wash, blinking eye exercises, Genteal gel drops at night (dry eyes)
  • Electrolyte drink of some kind after sweaty exercise sessions or when feel dehydrated. Some current favorites are Hi-Lyte mixed with diluted juice, Drip Drop, or Liquid IV.
  • Flonase- Occasional stints as needed for seasonal allergies
  • Fermented applesauce or probiotics for gut flora
  • Neil Med Sinus Rinse (allergies and sinus infections)
  • Vitamin D (current deficiency)
  • Slow release iron (past deficiency)
  • Increased water intake
  • Working within my energy envelope (pacing)
  • Healthy diet (a lot of whole foods)
  • Massage therapy
  • Increased time outdoors
  • Meditation
  • Deep breathing
  • Healthy sleep habits
  • Challenge myself cognitively and learn new things (helps with brain fog)
  • Cognitive behavioral strategies/avoiding sick behaviors (“mind tricks”)
  • Exercise- Currently weight lifting, PT exercises, variety of cardio, and running
  • Being as active and mobile as possible during non-exercise time
  • Natural movement and barefoot shoes

Here are some things that I used to do that were helpful at a time, but I no longer do because I don’t have to or it lost its effectiveness, etc.

  • Saltstick Vitassium
  • Mestinon (aka Pyridostigmine Bromide)- helped with energy, strength, and “gassed” feeling in muscles
  • Vestibular ocular reflex exercise/physical therapy for dizziness
  • Physical therapy for addressing muscular imbalances and minor injuries
  • Ginseng for energy
  • Propranolol- helpful bridge to exercise
  • Modified Levine Protocol exercise program
  • P.volve (exercise method)
